The Blightroot
The active concentration feeding corruption through the Lower Works.
The tunnel opens into a broad chamber split by water channels and old platforms. At its center, black roots have erupted through the stone in one enormous knot.
The mass pulses slowly. Ember-colored light moves through it like blood through veins. Thick roots disappear into cracks in every direction—up toward the forest, back toward the flooded passages, and deeper beneath the excavation.
Smaller shapes tear themselves loose from its outer growth and drop onto the stone.
Cut Out the Blightroot
4 PCs: Blightroot complex hazard + 2 Rootlings. 5 PCs: add 1 Thornling.
The Blightroot is not a creature; it is a rooted biological stage. Defeat it by disabling or destroying its exposed nodes while surviving tendrils and defenders.
Destroying this Blightroot does not cure the entire Palakar. It severs the active concentration beneath Reiver's Right and provides the fresh sample Morwenna needs for a stabilized neutralizer.
