Reiver's Right — E18-4
Ventilation Shaft
The old route upward is permanently sealed.
A narrow gallery rises toward a vertical timbered shaft. Canvas sleeves once carried air down from above, but now hang torn and blackened.
Twenty feet up, the shaft ends in shattered braces, stone, roots, and compacted earth. The surface opening has collapsed completely.
Closed Map Edge
This is not a route out. Reopening it requires heavy excavation tools, lifting tackle, shoring timber, and hours or days of work.
Challenge: Read the Collapse
Primary CheckCrafting DC 16, Engineering Lore DC 14, Mining Lore DC 14, or Perception DC 17
Success reveals several critical braces were cut or removed shortly before the collapse, suggesting someone intentionally sealed this route during the final crisis.
