Access Ramp

Rails and a failing brake turn the descent into a weapon.

The timber-braced ramp descends steeply beside iron rails. A loaded ore cart rests above the lower landing, held by a chain wrapped around a brake post.

The chain has slipped almost completely free.

The ramp is difficult terrain uphill. The cart contains broken stone rather than ore—another sign this is excavation, not mineral production.

Disable Thievery DC 16 to secure the chain; Crafting DC 15 to wedge the wheels; Athletics DC 18 to drag the cart against the stop.

Runaway Cart ↻ Trigger: a creature reaches the lower ramp or disturbs the cart. The cart races 60 feet. Creatures on the rails attempt DC 17 Reflex.

Critical Success Step clear. Success 1d8+3 bludgeoning and move to an adjacent square. Failure 2d8+3 and prone. Critical Failure double damage, prone, pushed 10 feet.

Reset None without hauling the cart back and repairing the brake.
