Brother Alms
Appearance: Once handsome, now gaunt with fever-bright eyes. His Pharasmin robes are torn and stained with grave-dirt. He wears a pendant of the Veilbreaker — a spiral broken in half.
Personality: Fanatical but not insane. Alms genuinely believes he is saving souls from Pharasma's tyranny. He speaks softly, almost lovingly, even when ordering executions. He sees himself as a midwife of freedom.
Background: Alms lost his wife and three children to the Bleaching Plague ten years ago. Pharasma's church told him their deaths were "the Lady's will." He served faithfully until the Veilbreaker spoke to him in dreams, offering a philosophy that made sense of his grief: death is not judgment but liberation.
What he wants: To plant the final shard at the Threshold. To "free" as many souls as possible before the end. To be remembered as a liberator, not a monster.
Main
Goals: Serve the Veilbreaker, free souls from the cycle, prove Pharasma wrong.
Relationships: Worships the Veilbreaker as a prophet. Pities his cultist followers, whom he sees as children who need guidance. Hates Sister Mirela for her blind faith.
Weakness: Alms cannot bear to see children suffer. If the party brings a child into the ossuary (or mentions the children of Thornwick), he hesitates. This can be exploited in social combat.
