Auginford — Chapel of the Quiet Flame
Auginford · Place of Worship
Chapel of the Quiet Flame
The chapel is a narrow whitewashed building tucked behind the village green. Its little bell is wrapped in cloth, and a single blue-and-gold flame burns above the altar without smoke.
The Chapel of the Quiet Flame is Auginford’s small, practical church. It serves travelers, ferrymen, and families who need a blessing before the road. The chapel has no grand treasury, but its records preserve births, deaths, river accidents, and old warnings about the Uskwood.
Services
- Prayer and counsel: free; Brother Trenenzo offers a quiet place to speak and a useful piece of local history when appropriate.
- First aid: a healer’s attention and simple bandaging for 1 sp; healing magic is available when Trenenzo has the time and spell capacity.
- Funeral or remembrance rite: 5 sp, including a written name-scroll kept in the chapel archive.
- Road blessing: 2 sp for a party leaving toward the mansions; the blessing comes with one practical warning from the chapel’s route book.
