This is another open meadow, quieter than the entry ground. Near its edge lies the body of an adventurer who died several days ago. Their pack has been opened and searched, but the surrounding grass shows that someone—or something—kept looking after the death.

Treasure: A chest containing a moderate treasure is buried somewhere near the body. Place it in a plausible random spot within or beside the meadow when the party searches. The chest is mundane but carefully wrapped against damp and ash.

Clue: The dead adventurer’s field notes describe a figure watching the northern pools and warn that the mansion’s paths “turn toward the one who is already waiting.”
