Level 2–3 Treasure Menu
Party Treasure Menu · Five-Character Party
As the party advances through its second level of adventuring, it may choose from a curated selection of magical equipment, alchemical supplies, consumables, and valuable materials. These selections represent the treasure earned throughout the journey toward 3rd level, allowing the party to choose rewards that best support its members.
How This Works
Instead of receiving a fixed package of treasure, the party may choose from the available categories until each allowance has been exhausted. Permanent items, consumables, and currency are separate treasure pools and cannot normally be exchanged between categories. The party may distribute its selections among its members however it wishes.
Level 2 Treasure Allowance
| Treasure Pool | Party Allowance |
|---|---|
| Level 3 Permanent Items | 2 slots |
| Level 2 Permanent Items | 2 slots |
| Extra Permanent Item | 1 slot, level 2 or 3 |
| Level 3 Consumables | 3 slots |
| Level 2 Consumables | 3 slots |
| Level 1 Consumables | 2 slots |
| Currency / Valuables / Raw Materials | 88 gp |
Permanent Item Flexibility
The fifth character adds one permanent-item selection, which may be either level 2 or level 3. This gives the party five permanent-item selections in total. The distribution may be three level 3 items and two level 2 items, or two level 3 items and three level 2 items. Selecting a lower-level item does not generate additional currency or another item slot.
Permanent Item Menu
Choose common permanent items of the appropriate level. This menu includes equipment suitable for martial characters, spellcasters, alchemists, and characters with unusual class abilities. Specific items must match the level of the treasure slot being used.
| Selection | Item Level | Uses |
|---|---|---|
| +1 Weapon Potency Rune | 2 | Weapon attack enhancement |
| Common Skill Item | 2–3 | Improves a skill or specialized activity |
| Common Worn Item | 2–3 | Character utility or passive magical benefit |
| Common Held Magic Item | 2–3 | Exploration, defense, or magical utility |
| Common Magical Tool | 2–3 | Crafting, investigation, or exploration |
| Common Spellcasting Item | 2–3 | Spellcasting assistance or additional options |
| Other Common Permanent Item | 2–3 | Any approved common item of the correct level |
Permanent Item Limit
A permanent-item slot grants one permanent item of the specified level. Lower-level items may be selected with GM approval, but any unused value does not automatically become additional currency. Items above the slot's permitted level require separate GM approval and are not part of the normal selection allowance.
Consumable Menu
Consumables provide temporary magical, alchemical, or tactical advantages. The party may select common consumables appropriate to each available item-level slot. This includes healing supplies, alchemical bombs, potions, scrolls, talismans, ammunition, and other single-use equipment.
| Selection | Eligible Level | Category |
|---|---|---|
| Elixir of Life (Minor) | 1 | Alchemical Healing |
| Alchemical Bomb | 1–3 | Alchemical Offense |
| Antidote / Antiplague | 1–3 | Alchemical Protection |
| Healing Potion (Minor) | 1 | Magical Healing |
| 1st-Rank Spell Scroll | 1 | Magical Consumable |
| Common Potion | 1–3 | Magical Consumable |
| Common Talisman | 1–3 | Equipment Enhancement |
| Common Alchemical Elixir | 1–3 | Alchemical Utility |
| Common Magical Ammunition | 1–3 | Single-Use Ammunition |
| Other Common Consumable | 1–3 | Any approved common consumable |
The level range above indicates possible item levels, not that every listed item has a version at every level. Each selection must use an actual published item of the appropriate level. A higher-level consumable slot may be spent on a lower-level consumable, but no change is given.
Consumable Limit
Each consumable slot purchases one consumable item of the permitted level. A stack, bundle, or collection of consumables counts as multiple items unless its published rules define it as a single item. Consumable slots cannot normally be converted into raw materials or currency.
Currency, Valuables, and Crafting Materials
The party also receives a separate treasure pool of 88 gp. This may be divided freely among coins, gemstones, jewelry, trade goods, and appropriate raw crafting materials. Materials are valued at their normal market price and remain available for future crafting projects. This portion of the treasure pool is particularly useful for characters who manufacture their own equipment or consumables.
| Example | Treasure Type |
|---|---|
| Gold, Silver, and Copper Coins | Currency |
| Gemstones | Valuables |
| Jewelry and Trade Goods | Valuables |
| Alchemical Reagents | Raw Crafting Materials |
| Cold Iron Stock | Raw Crafting Materials |
| Silver Stock | Raw Crafting Materials |
| Specialized Wood and Darkwood | Raw Crafting Materials |
| Resins, Oils, Pigments, and Minerals | Raw Crafting Materials |
Example 88 gp Selection
| Treasure | Value |
|---|---|
| Alchemical Reagents | 20 gp |
| Cold Iron Stock | 15 gp |
| Silver Stock | 10 gp |
| Specialized Wood or Resin | 10 gp |
| Gemstones | 18 gp |
| Coins | 15 gp |
| Total | 88 gp |
Raw Materials and Consumables
Raw crafting materials do not use consumable-item slots. For example, 10 gp worth of alchemical reagents remains 10 gp from the currency and valuables pool, even if an alchemist later uses those materials to Craft several consumable items. The ability to transform those materials into finished equipment comes from the character's Crafting abilities and does not change the treasure category of the original reward.
