The Threshold Complex
The Threshold of Souls
The Threshold of Souls was never purely physical. Long before the Veilbreaker showed up, this place straddled the line between the Material Plane and the Boneyard. Now, with the Veil failing, the architecture can't even hold a solid shape. Weathered stone dissolves into polished bone, drifts off as mist, then snaps back together a second later. Every few steps, reality slips, offering a terrifying glimpse into the endless spiral paths of Pharasma's realm.
Exploring the Threshold is a slow descent into chaos. Each section still echoes its original divine purpose, but centuries of decay and raw Void corruption have turned a holy crossing into a death trap.
- The Courtyard of Passage: What used to be a peaceful waiting ground is now an active war zone. Restless echoes brawl endlessly with the last bound psychopomps left on guard.
- The Hall of Weighing: Ancient Pharasmin wards still judge everyone who walks through. Forget swinging swords—the forgotten rituals and lethal planar traps here measure a hero's soul, not their steel.
- The Gallery of Faces: The lingering spirits of dead crusaders haunt this solemn hall, trapped between ancient oaths and final judgment. Talk to them right, and they're allies. Step wrong, and they'll tear the party apart.
- The Judgment Chamber: The main shard sits right at the center of the complex under the watchful eye of the Veilbreaker's avatar, where planar corruption is at its absolute peak.
- The Fraying Veil: Past the chamber, the boundary between worlds collapses completely into void-warped planar terrain. The basic laws of life and death stop working here, setting up the final confrontation.
