Auginford — The Village Green

Auginford · Village Center · Level 1

The Village Green

Auginford gathers around a square of rain-dark grass where three old stones lean toward one another. A covered notice board stands beneath an ash tree, and the river wind carries every conversation across the green.

The village green is the safest place in Auginford to find witnesses, local notices, and people willing to talk in public. Ferrymen, farmers, travelers, and watch volunteers pass through from dawn until the last lamps are shuttered.

What the party can find

  • Notice board: old road warnings, missing-person notices, ferry schedules, and a fresh request for help near the south road.
  • Three leaning stones: the oldest bears a worn three-house mark that matches the Mansions’ crest.
  • Local witnesses: villagers have seen pale lights beyond the bridge and heard a second bell answering the chapel after midnight.
Hook: A notice pinned beneath the others has been written in ash. It names no employer, but promises a silver reward for anyone who can explain why the old waystone has begun facing the river.
