Auginford — River Landing

Auginford · River Crossing · Level 1

The River Landing

The landing is a shelf of wet timber below the bridge. MoBrickomerg ropes creak against black posts, and the river carries reeds, driftwood, and the occasional glint of something that should have sunk.

The landing handles ferries, cargo skiffs, and the village’s practical connection to the settlements downstream. The current is usually manageable, but recent changes in the riverbed have exposed old foundation stones beneath the water.

People and clues

  • Ferry hands: know the safest approach to the old south road and can arrange passage for 1 sp per traveler.
  • Flood marks: the highest recent waterline is several feet above the normal spring mark, despite clear weather.
  • Lost cargo: a sealed crate recovered from the river bears a household mark matching one of the Mansions.
Hazard: A character who searches the exposed stones and critically fails an Athletics or Perception check slips into the current. The landing offers ropes and poles, so the consequence is a rescue problem rather than an unavoidable loss.
