Captain Aelar's Profile

⚔️ Captain Aelar

Role: Hellknight Captain
Order: Order of the Godclaw
Age: 42
Status: Guard of House Thrune
Affiliation: Hellknights (Order of the Godclaw)

📖 Description

Captain Aelar is a veteran Hellknight, his face a roadmap of scars earned in service to Cheliax. He stands tall and rigid, his armor polished to a mirror shine despite the weight of disgrace that now hangs over him. He failed to protect Darian Thrune, and his reputation is ruined. He is angry — at himself and at the conspiracy he suspects.

His eyes are cold and analytical, the eyes of a man who has seen too much and trusts too little. He speaks in clipped, precise sentences, as if every word must earn its place. Beneath his stoic exterior, he is a man on the edge—desperate to redeem himself, but unsure who he can trust.

🔍 Key Information

  • He saw the assassin — a gaunt, shadowy figure that moved like smoke between the shadows, leaving no trace.
  • He suspects there was an inside man—someone within House Thrune who provided access and information to the killer.
  • He is being investigated by his superiors for dereliction of duty. His career—and possibly his life—hangs in the balance.
  • He carries a wound from the night of the murder—a wound that refuses to heal, as if marked by something unnatural.

Order of the Godclaw: The Hellknight order to which Aelar belongs. They worship a pantheon of five lawful deities—Iomedae, Torag, Abadar, Asmodeus, and Irori—and view law as the highest virtue. They are the most zealous of the Hellknight orders, and they will not forgive failure.
