The path to the Court of Endless Revelry winds through groves of ancient oak, but the usual sounds of panpipes and laughter are replaced by an eerie, trembling silence. The satyrs are usually the most boisterous inhabitants of the Palakar, but now they hide in the shadows, their hooves digging nervously into the earth. Even the leaves seem to hold their breath, waiting for something to snap.
Finally, a group of satyrs led by a proud and terrified figure named Fennin approaches. He warns them that the Court of Seasons has fallen under the sway of a mad Nymph Queen who is forcing the forest to grow hostile. He also reveals that the trees around Reiver's Right are not just dying, but 'eating' the sunlight. He hands the party a handful of enchanted feathers, saying they are a token of trust.
Fennin explains that the Satyrs rely on the 'profit' the forest brings, and they have a stake in keeping the humans happy. But the fey are scared of the 'Long Winter' that the Nymph Queen is creating. He offers to guide them to the Court of Seasons if they can first prove their strength by clearing a path through the cursed trees that have begun to stalk the fringes of his territory.
