The boundary of the Revelry is guarded by what were once majestic darkwood trees, but are now twisted, weeping horror. The trunks are black and dry, and faces contorted in silent agony emerge from the bark. They lurch forward, using their roots and gnarled limbs to crush anything that stands between them and the forest. These creatures are not undead, but living wood warped by a diabolical magic, hissing with the sound of tearing bark as they move.
Defeating these walkers requires the party to use fire or slashing weapons, but the wood is incredibly hard. The satyrs refuse to engage them, for fear of being corrupted by the 'black sap' that drips from their wounds. As the party fights, they notice a silver ring embedded in the roots of one of the trees—the ring of the missing foreman.
