GM Brief: The Veilbreaker's Philosophy

GM Primer: The Veilbreaker's Philosophy (Act 3)

GM Note: As the party prepares for the final confrontation in Act 3, keep in mind that Keth-Veyr doesn't view itself as a villain or a fallen monster. In its mind, Pharasma’s divine judgment was a rigged game from the very beginning. It spent centuries on duty in the Gray, watching gentle, harmless souls wander through the Boneyard in absolute terror while ruthless tyrants and murderers managed to maneuver themselves into powerful, comfortable reincarnations. To Keth-Veyr, the entire cosmic order isn't holy justice—it's just blind luck wrapped in a divine badge.

Its solution? Tear down the planar walls and bypass death’s courtroom entirely. Keth-Veyr freely admits that whatever crawls out the other side won't be "human" anymore—not by a long shot—but it stubbornly insists that total planar chaos or oblivion is still kinder than Pharasma's scales. If your players hope to talk the entity down or break its resolve in Act 3, standard threats won't work; they'll need to appeal to its original divine duties and force it to see the actual, tragic collateral damage its "mercy" is inflicting on the living.
