North Track
Toward Ranger Road
A narrow track leaves the north side of Reiver's Right and disappears between tall trees. It is much rougher than the North Road: two muddy wheel ruts, old boot prints, and occasional ranger marks cut into trunks.
The track served scouts, hunters, small work parties, and traffic that did not need to pass through the main south gate. It also provides a natural way to continue deeper into the Palakar in later acts without making that journey part of the Reiver's Right investigation itself.
If the party found Joran's mark in the watchtower, Survival DC 15 follows his trail a short distance beyond the mapped camp to a concealed hunter's hollow.
Joran is alive but injured after a patch of ground gave way beneath him while he was scouting the northern perimeter. He has been unable to make the return trip alone. He heard intermittent metal impacts from the bluff during the night but never saw ordinary workers moving through the camp.
Finding Joran resolves Garrick's missing-scout objective. The previously established reward from Garrick remains unchanged.
If the party continues north only to scout the immediate area, they find increasingly irregular animal tracks and isolated roots marked by black sap. Where the bark has split, the same faint angular reddish-gold infernal markings appear beneath the surface. Do not force another major encounter here. Use the Central Yard random-event table if the group needs pressure, then turn them back toward the unanswered evidence inside Reiver's Right.
