Reiver's Right — Location 1

South Gate

The North Road Entrance

The North Road ends at a tall timber palisade built across the shoulder of the river bluff. Reiver's Right's south gate stands partly open, one heavy door resting against its stop. Beyond it lies a broad yard of cabins, sheds, stacked timber, and silent machinery.

No guard challenges you. No bell rings. Nothing inside the camp moves.

The gate is intact. There are no signs of a siege, forced entry, or organized evacuation. Reiver's Right looks less abandoned than interrupted.

A casual examination shows wagon ruts, boot prints, and draft-animal tracks from a camp that had been operating normally. A character who studies the newest traffic can attempt Survival or Perception DC 15.

Success: The newest wagon traffic is about four days old. The last heavy wagons traveled out through this gate; afterward, only scattered boot traffic crossed the threshold.

Critical Success: The character also notices that no large group marched out of the camp. Whatever happened to the workforce, they did not simply evacuate together along the North Road.

Characters who heard at the Gilded Ledger that commercial traffic stopped four days ago can confirm that rumor here without another check.
