Storehouse
Logging Supplies and the Wrong Kind of Equipment
The storehouse is packed with the practical clutter of a remote timber camp: rope, axes, wedges, spare saw teeth, canvas, lamp oil, iron fittings, replacement chains, and crates of hardware.
Farther back, the inventory becomes harder to explain.
Crafting, Mining Lore, or Engineering Lore DC 15: Mixed among the normal logging supplies are heavy picks, narrow drainage pipe, ventilation canvas, stone wedges, large quantities of lamp oil, and replacement hardware suited to hauling dense material in confined spaces.
Critical Success: The combination is unmistakably useful for sustained underground work. None of the items proves illegal excavation alone; together they are difficult to explain as ordinary logging.
If the party accepted Pheyess's request in Old Macridi, a locked dry-storage bay contains the oversized darkwood beam he described. His carved double-leaf artisan mark is still visible on one end.
The beam has seasoned here for years and shows no visible black-sap corruption. Following Pheyess's instructions, the party can confirm this without a Crafting check.
The beam is too large to casually carry away. Securing it, marking it for later retrieval, or arranging transport through the lower dock is enough to advance the task. Pheyess's established reward remains payable when the heartwood is actually secured for him.
