Timbers Built to Hold Up Earth
The carpentry shed contains benches, planes, augers, mallets, and neatly sorted stacks of cut wood. Against one wall, dozens of short, thick beams have been shaped to nearly identical dimensions and fitted with heavy joining plates.
Crafting, Engineering Lore, or Mining Lore DC 15: These are not ordinary building beams. They are shoring timbers—short, overbuilt supports intended to hold weight above a confined passage.
Critical Success: Chalk dimensions on the workbench describe repeated frames of the same width and height, suggesting a tunnel or underground gallery constructed in regular stages.
This is one of the cleanest clues that Reiver's Right has been supporting underground construction, but it still does not tell the party where the entrance is.
