Foundry PF2 Import

Search a PF2 creature site and create or update NPC actors.

Requirements

Licensed Foundry v14.361+ (verified 14.369) with PF2e 8.4.0+ (verified 8.6.1).

Install in Foundry

  1. On Foundry's Setup screen, select Add-on Modules → Install Module.
  2. Paste the following Manifest URL, then select Install:

  1. Launch a PF2e world as GM. Under Game Settings → Manage Modules, enable Foundry PF2 Import and save.

Foundry shows an update button for the module when a newer release is published.

Alternative: install manually

  1. With GitHub repository access, download or clone the master branch of foundry-pf2-import.
  2. In Foundry Setup find Configuration → User Data Path, then stop Foundry.
  3. Create Data/modules/foundry-pf2-import/ under that path.
  4. Copy module.json, lang/, scripts/, styles/ and templates/ into that folder, ensuring module.json is directly inside it.
  5. Restart Foundry, launch a PF2e world as GM and enable Foundry PF2 Import in Manage Modules.

Configure and use

  1. In Configure Settings → Foundry PF2 Import, Source defaults to Local (http://localhost:3333), for a pf2-monster-search on the same machine as the Foundry client. To use the hosted site, switch Source to pf2 (https://pf2.unwhelm.online); its Site base URL defaults to https://pf2.unwhelm.online.
  2. Choose Transport (Browser (direct) by default, or Proxy) and a Token image: Site thumbnail (default), Default (leave Foundry's token image), Letter SVG or Portrait-derived token. Thumbnail and portrait art need the Art password setting and fall back to a letter token; Letter token style picks Original (owlbear) or Per-creature color.
  3. Under Actors, click PF2 Import, search for a creature and click Import. The Actors sidebar also offers AMBA Manifest for AMBA creature manifests.

Verify and limitations

Import a creature and verify a new NPC actor appears. Repeat the import to update the actor rather than duplicate it. Version 0.1.0 maps basic numeric fields, traits, size and rarity, but strikes, abilities and spells are not yet parsed completely.
